Manfrotto Pro Light 26 MB PL-3N1-26

I've been a big fan of Kata bags so when it was time to add to my collection, I had to look at the Manfrotto line.
This 3n1-26 is the replacement to the classic 3n1-25, both offered in the Kata & Manfrotto branding. By the looks of things, it seems that they were able to make the 26 bag lighter lb but I'm not sure how seeing the materials and external sizing is the same.
As for internal sizing, things just dont make sense (when it comes to the listed numbers.
26 Bag seems to have greater interior dimensions ( x x ) vs the 25 Bag ( x x ). However when you look at each itemize compartment sizing, the 25 Bag has a bigger laptop storage ( x x vs x x ) & the 25 Bag has more camera room ( x x vs x x )
The exterior design is different, it looks like they removed the the TST Rib structure from the middle spine to support the Tripod Holder. Potentially this is a good feature as you can now carry a tripod that is more leveled to the bag. In the 25 bag, the Tripod holder was a cup attachment, if you took the bag off and placed it on the ground, you couldn't stand the bag upright. Seeing that they went this route, I wish they would have added some sort of support feet at the bottom to help hold this bag upright.
As with my older Kata bag, I really dislike the water bottle "solution" they give you. Unless you are packing a small bottle of water, I'm never able to secure my bottle during small hikes. I can already see when using this in sling mode, that the water bottle will drop each time you tilt the bag over. I would much rather see some sort of attachment device that can be clipped on the side that is designed to snug various bottles, perhaps having 2 snaps to help the bottle from wagging as you walk.
I will say, it is a great bag, the 25 and 26 bags are designed to be very compact & light. I use these for day trips or for going to quick shoots. I love how you can convert the straps on the fly, I dont always need a sling bag and having the option to cross the straps for those serious parts of my hike is a nice touch. Having those nice thick "hip huggers" just adds to the comfort of these bags.
As of now, you can still get the 25 Bag and it comes at a significant price difference. I will end up keeping the 26 bag but if the price is a concern for you, the 25 bag offers everything the 26 bag does* but at a much cheaper price. (*Though they have the same features, the way they implement them might be different, ex: 25 bag has a tripod cup while the 26 bag incorporates it into the design).
Lastly, B&H indicates on their site that the laptop compartment, can hold a 13" However on Manfrotto's site the "laptop compartment" is really a tablet compartment, supporting something that is sub 10". I have the Galaxy Note and it does NOT fit in the laptop slot. I have no idea how a 13" laptop is going to fit. Keep in mind that if you do need to support a 13" laptop (as long as it is slim) you will need to get the 25 bag.
