Firstly, you will need an Attachment Buckle that is sold separately from this pack. If you don't dig deep enough to find that out, you will buy this for 32 dollars WITHOUT the most crucial part: the buckle that attaches the camera to the backpack mount.
Plus, you will only find out that the buckle is separate when you open the package and read the manual. So, there's no choice here. You either have to review extensively OR painfully find out that the product lacks another piece for you to have the best experience. I hope Amazon will refund me because I returned this product, with all the packaging and documentation attached to it.
I tried this mount out no my latest hike. It worked like a charm. The mount is barely noticeable, clipping right on to the shoulder strap. It gives a good angle during a hike, or whatever your using it for, without being in the way. The mount has a spin wheel that makes taking it off a breeze. I was able to take the camera off attach it to my "selfie stick" for viewing animals up close. Then I was able to reattach the camera to the backpack mount while walking. The straps are all very sturdy and great quality.
