I purchased this foot controller to help with my PC gaming. As many know, some PC games can require an endless amount of hotkeys and key binds in order to perform "well". Good examples are shooters like Call of Duty or MMOs like World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, many of us do not have the finger dexterity of keyboard mapping familiarity to pull this off. Some, like me, may have a disability that makes using multiple key difficult.
This device has changed my gaming world. With it, I am now able to play at the same level as other players. I was able to adapt to it in one night by configuring it like a cars driving pedals (gas, break and clutch). Going this route, the 12 keys I could comfortabley use are now 48!
I was also pleasantly surprised at the quality. This thing is built for its intended use. It isn't some fancy gaming mouse that sits on your desk. This is a heavy, clunky and sturdy piece of gear that is ready to take abuse. I have no doubts it is built to last. Software is no-frills and easily understood.
Only negative I can say is about the shipping. Shipping time could have been better, but thats on the carrier. However, the packaging was lacking. It was mailed in 2 bublbe-wrap envelopes. While the device could survive that, the packaging and contents (like the CD) might not. This needs to be shipped in a larger box with more padding.
I bought this 3 pedal setup to control my audio recording software on my PC -- to avoid pressing the control combinations on the keyboard (specifically Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+W, spacebar) which gets tiring after a while.
Software remembers the key combinations just fine, thought the software is quite rudimentary and not intuitive to install and use. But it works.
Hardware-wise it seems like very good design, with three heavy duty pedals and nice glossy pedalboard. 5 out of 5 here.
It is "version 2" of this controller with "silent" switches under the pedals. But the pedals are not silent per say - the switch under the pedal panel indeed does not click, but the clack comes from the metal parts of the pedal. That "clack" is quite audible when I press the pedal. No matter how soft I try to be with my foot.
That is fine for my situation, and I do not care that much. But if you think about using the pedal in the quiet office, around sleeping people, and what-have-you -- keep this fact in mind.
Overall, a solid functional piece of equipment.
